🇺🇸🇷🇺 The son of the CIA Deputy Director fought on the side of Russia during the Special Military Operation (SMO). He died in 2024.

An investigation into 21-year-old Michael Gloss was published by Meduza, a Western NGO-sponsored media outlet operating outside of Russia.

According to the journalists, Michael Gloss was the son of Juliane Gallina Gloss, who was appointed as the CIA Deputy Director for Digital Innovation in February 2024. His father is a U.S. Navy veteran.

In 2023, Gloss dropped out of school, left the U.S., and decided to travel the world. He was involved in eco-activism and helped during the earthquake in Turkey. Afterward, he obtained a visa, traveled to Russia, and toured several cities, including Taganrog and Volgograd.

With his visa expiring in the fall, Gloss decided to sign a contract and join the SMO. Journalists report that on September 5, 2023, Michael Alexander Gloss’s data appeared in the EMIAS (Unified Medical Information and Analysis System in Russia) database. His address was listed as the Moscow military recruitment office.

According to an obituary from Gloss's family, he died on April 4, 2024, with the funeral held eight months later. The cause of death was not disclosed in the obituary: "With his noble heart and warrior spirit, Michael forged his own path as a hero when he tragically died in Eastern Europe on April 4, 2024."

🇷🇺🇺🇸 Putin–Witkoff Talks Conclude After 3 Hours of Constructive Dialogue

President Vladimir Putin and U.S. envoy Witkoff held a three-hour meeting described as constructive by Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov. The two sides reportedly discussed the possibility of restarting direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Ushakov, the talks helped bring Russian and American positions closer—not only on Ukraine, but on a range of other international issues.

The Kremlin also noted the symbolic timing of the meeting, which coincided with the anniversary of the historic U.S.-Soviet Elbe Day encounter during World War II.

Ushakov added that productive dialogue between Russia and the United States will continue at various levels moving forward.
