Sir what is the difference between sampling and selecting specific items ?

Sampling is majorly random, anything can get selected, every unit has equal chances of selection and one unit is selected at a time.

Specific selection is criteria based selection where we focus on item above certain limit or key big contributors or highly risky items etc. all items fulfilling criteria are selected.

So one is exploring population one is focused on criteria.

SA 500 discusses different ways of selecting items for evidence. There are 3 ways

Random Selection
