Hogie is a student at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School (Secondary) and she volunteers for various youth-initiated projects in-between her GCE O-Level preparations. Together with other founding members of SG Discuss, Hogie holds a crucial role in bringing together youths and seniors on Meaningful Sundays, in spite of the challenges posed by COVID-19. #DoingGoodTogether

Julian is a recent graduate from NTU Psychology and he volunteers for various community projects in-between his work at Zeles Network, a social enterprise that innovates to improve the volunteering ecosystem in Singapore. Together with other NTU students, Julian has built VMax, a volunteer training programme that helps bridge the intergenerational gap between youth and senior volunteers in Singapore. #DoingGoodTogether

Fun Fact (By @WeFeedback): Julian has a personal website about his volunteering journey over the years.
Josie has been a regular volunteer since 1994 in-between her work in the field of Learning & Development over three decades. Formerly a Director of Service Culture, and subsequently, Adjunct Consultant at Starwood (Asia Pacific) Hotels and Resorts based in Beijing, she is effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin. Together with other senior volunteers from RSVP Singapore and youth volunteers from SG Discuss, Josie holds a crucial role in creating learning experiences and a capacity-building programme for all age groups in Singapore. #DoingGoodTogether

Greg is the Co-Founder and CEO at SG Assist, a task-matching platform that connects community members with assistance just around the corner. Together with Russ Neu (Founder and CEO at Social Collider), Greg played a crucial role in supporting social enterprises on the first Meaningful Sunday (National Grandparents Day 2019). #DoingGoodTogether

Fun Fact (By @WeFeedback): Greg is serving beneficiaries at the moment as we celebrate our National Day by doing good together between online on Telegram and offline at a Charity Car Drive from The Fullerton Hotel to Marine Parade.
Pow is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Hustle & Bustle. His portfolio covers creative management, event branding, concept, site build, and design. Together with many SMEs and MNCs, Pow is always driving the frontline of CSR and charitable events, no different this Meaningful Sunday as he is actually driving a classic car to deliver bento meals from The Fullerton Hotel to beneficiaries from WeCare@MarineParade. #DoingGoodTogether

Kendra is an IT veteran, holding various roles as a Programmer, System Analyst, and Project Manager over two decades. As a volunteer, she conducts training programmes for seniors in-between her work as a trainer for companies. Together with technology companies and other technology enthusiasts within SG Discuss, Kendra holds a crucial role in designing "Train The Trainer" programmes to equip seniors with the IT skills that are necessary in today's world. #DoingGoodTogether

Last year, over 30 organisations, 300 beneficiaries, 10 sponsors, and 100 volunteers worked together to commemorate the inaugural Grandparents Day 2019 on a Meaningful Sunday.

Over the next 3 days, we will take you on an exciting journey of doing good together between generations, in commemoration of Grandparents Day 2020 on Sunday, 22 November.

Sunday, 22 November 2021 marks National Grandparents Day in Singapore. On this Meaningful Sunday, our partner network will come together to discuss bottom-up initiatives and network with an intergenerational panel of passionate individuals from all walks of life.

The COVID-19 pandemic poses problems from the top-down but also presents opportunities to discuss digital solutions from the bottom-up.

Supporting community projects in digital transformation as well as to navigate COVID-19 measures have always been the mission of SG Discuss.

We start off today with our global community who worked together with our local community in Singapore on a preview of National Grandparents Day 2020, which was conducted on Sunday, 1 November.

This World Together movement is welcoming ‘Togetheristic’ members from all continents of the world and during this preview, our members from the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands and India shared their perspectives on our core themes of Seniors, Youths, Family, Community, Art & Tech for Good.
